Schneider National Carriers Class Action
This proposed class action, filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California (San Francisco), challenges many of Schneider Trucking’s payment practices, including its alleged failure to pay for all time the drivers are working and on duty during the work day. The case was certified by the Court to proceed as a class action on behalf of all the Schneider drivers in the State of California.
Following certification and additional challenges to the case by Schneider, the case ultimately settled for a total agreed payment of $28,000,000.00. In early October 2016, the District Court granted final approval to the settlement. Two individual objectors whose objections had been overruled by the Court filed appeals of the denial of their objections, thus delaying payment of the settlement. The District Court dismissed the appeals, finding them to be frivolous.
**UPDATE** (As of July 26, 2017)
Great News! The settlement check disbursements have been completed and have been mailed out to all the class members. Checks will be valid for 180 days from issuance. Any expired, uncashed checks will be transferred to the California Unclaimed Property Fund in the name of and for the benefit of such class members.
