Stan Saltzman Awarded 2019 California Lawyer of the Year
March 27, 2019
AGOURA HILLS, CA– The Daily Journal announced the recipients of its 2019 California Lawyer of the Year (CLAY) award which recognizes lawyers who made a “profound impact on the law.” Marlin & Saltzman congratulates partner, Stan Saltzman, on his selection to the 2019 list of CLAY recipients for his work on Troester v. Starbucks Corporation.
Saltzman argued the case to the California Supreme Court, on behalf of a class of approximately 10,000 Starbucks employees who worked the store closing shifts. The ruling affects companies throughout the state of California. Upon receiving the California Supreme Court verdict Saltzman noted, “we are overwhelmed by the Supreme Court’s decision to remove the so-called federal ‘de minimis’ rule from the body of California law, and we are heartened that employers are now being told, very clearly, that they cannot require their workers to regularly perform minutes per day of unpaid labor.”
With almost forty years of experience, Stan Saltzman has dedicated his practice to “fighting for the little guy.” His work on Troester v. Starbucks Corporation is one of many cases where Mr. Saltzman has displayed his commitment to California workers and their wage and hour rights.
“I am thrilled to accept this 2019 California Lawyer of the Year award and will continue to focus my practice on advocating for workers and participating in game-changing litigation,” said Saltzman.
